Gas Mileage, Idle Problem
Hello all .. I posted here about a month and a half ago with a problem that I was having with my Chevy Sprint 86 ..
well, after replacing the entire fuel system almost (1. Sparks, Plugs and Wires 2. Fuel Filter 3. Fuel Pump 4. Checked all the gas lines 5. Carborater 6. Distributor) We finally foudn that it was the distributor and a few vacuum hoses that were "twisted up" .. Now I have a new problem. The average for Gas for my 3 cyclnder Sprint is about 45 from all I can tell .. and I'm positive that i"m not getting that .. I haven't been able to track it yet. But I filled up yesterday, and I'm at half of a tank today .. and that's with me driving 50ish miles. So when they were replacing all of these parts, could they have just set something wrong that is killing my gas mileage? If it makes any difference .. I'm also having some strange idleing problems ... it idles a bit too high, and also, if you just let it sit, it sounds like you're pressing the gas down for about 10 secs, then it goes back down and does that in a cycle . THanks for all the help guys. |
