Are Ground Kits Worth It?!

1996 Mitsu GS Spyder Eclipse 2.4 L 4G64

I am debating weather or not to purchase a ground kit like this one

http://www.x3racing.com/product.asp?pid=GW-RAL-RD

some people say it is a waste of money others say that it adds 5-9 hp and stabalizes some electrical things in the car but is it worth 40 dollars plus shipping and has anyone had any experience with them?

thanks,

Sean

I highly doubt you'll gain 5-9 hp from it, but replacing and adding a few grounds can only make things better. $40 isn't that bad of a deal, but you can make them yourself if you'd like. I say go for it, couldn't hurt!

I recommend them. I have them on all my cars at the moment (apexi) and while I can't say they've added power I can say my cars tend to pick up a little better (little being the key word) than before I had them installed. less hesitation and for some reason after I installed them on my gsx, the miss I had somehow went away. ??? go figure. I installed mine with the intent to make the elect. system more stable. I have seen what can happen to cars ecu's when running on a weak/ damaged ground. But to be quite honest you can make your own straps... and save money.

Re: Are Ground Kits Worth It?!

How would one going about making their own for cheaper and would it look as good as what is on the market?

Re: Are Ground Kits Worth It?!

i grounded my gst once i noticed that the headlights would dim when i mashed the pedal.

once i installed the wires, it stopped.
didn't really notice much of a difference anywhere else.

i made them myself as well. it's freaking easy and there's really no good reason to spend $40 on a bunch of wires unless you have money like that. you can end up spending 1/2 that if you do it yourself.
