8 ga vs 4 ga for each amp

Hey, What is the rule of thumb for choosing if to power each amp usin an 8 ga or a 4 ga power cable?

Im doing 4 ga to fused distribution block to 8ga to both amps (Tantrum 500.2 for components and Power Acoustik 520 (250rms) for atlas 15) Does that sound sufficient?

Thanks,
tom

yep. Kinda depends on how long the 8 gauge wire is but I'm sure it's just fine. Probably like 2-4 foot of 8 gauge per amp right? It'll work splendedly.

The bigger the better but anything bigger then 4awg for that amp would be overkill.
