Coupons

Alright, so every once in a while we all could use some coupons, for like grocery shopping, or we have a "free big mac" coupon or something, and thats cool, coupons are good. But My uncle LIVES on coupons. Sometimes I don't know where he gets them. He has the silliest coupons.

Heres a few examples:

he took a K Mart coupon to wal mart so they would price match grapes.

He once asked me if I had seen his coupon... when I asked, what coupon, he said.. "I had a coupon for gravy, I cant find it" then he got on his hands and knees looking for it.

Earlier today I heard him say "I'm gonna have to go look in the trash. I had these coupons for kleenex. A dollar each, and then I had a coupon for 40 cents off three."

Or he'll go, "Hey Ricky-son, you wanna go to IHOP?"... me- "sure".. him- "Okay good because I have a coupon for buy one omelette get one free."

His wife (my aunt in law??) asked me if I could do her a favor. I was expecting her to ask me to grab her something or whatnot because she is in a wheelchair and needs help sometimes, but no. She says.. I need you to go to valuepak.com and have them send me coupons. Then can you email olive garden and have them send me a coupon too. I eat there a lot, I think I deserve a coupon. Also, Applebees, and Outback. Have them all send me a coupon, I deserve it. And have them send a coupon to Becky too. She then had me write down beckys address.

They use coupons at quiznos, subway, IHOP, Wendys... OMG... they dont buy ANYTHING without a damn coupon.

The other day he started a weird conversation with me about toothbrushes. He was like.. I dont know what kind of toothbrushes you have used, and this and that, but theres some pretty good ones now days, and yada yada, basically talked about brushing teeth for like 5 minutes. Then he gave me a coupon for 1.50 off a two pack of some certain toothbrushes.

He uses coupons at ice cream shops. Seriously, how many people use coupons at ice cream shops? and then he doesnt tip either. At a restaurant he thinks 10 percent is a good tip. Their bill one time was 44 dollars or so, and they left 3 bucks and some change. He complains that "the waitress tried to cheat me on my vegetables, they werent big enough".. or "theres barely any tomatoes in here. I need to get my lycopene." (lycopene is a cancer preventing chemical found in tomatoes, and he is all about it). Guh.

My uncle is a good hearted guy, but he's so querky. I have never shook my head so many times in my life as I have since I have been here.

Re: Coupons

HAHAHAHA!! Those people crack me UP! I guarentee you he saves a lot of money--that shit adds up, but is it really worth all the trouble? I personally don't think so unless Im getting something FREE. And I won't make a special f'ing trip either. I can settle for buy/get free, but aside from that. Man, that shit is pointless, just not worth the time, money and effort. rofl I love those quirky people though, they crack me up. But every once in a while, it's like, "Wait, are they SERIOUS?!"

Re: Coupons

I do here a lot about grapes and your uncle, Example: Eating grapes with mouth open, buying grapes with coupons etc etc. But purple grapes are really damn good. Anyway coupons are a bitch anyways you have to spend time cutting them out which for me is to much damn work to save a little money.

Re: Coupons

Dude, I used to work at a drug store (it also had sundries and "crap" food products). I had people who would come in and only buy things if they had a coupon. They didn't care so much about sale items, unless the sale item also had a coupon they could use on top of it all. One guy had 27 coupons for free gum, so he bought the last 20 packs of that particular gum we had so he could use the coupons. Oh, then 2 days later he bought 10 more packs of the gum (he got 3 more coupons in those 2 days). To boot, he said the gum really isn't "that good" so he only gets it because it's free. Yeah, okay, so I was just ranting, too.

This sounds a whole lot like the Wal-Mart episode of South Park. Just can't stay away from those low prices.

Re: Coupons

how is your uncles income? is he on a fixed income, or a low income, where he has to budget? coupons can be a great saver. you never mentioned that aspect.
