Help Please!!! I don't know what is wrong...

Hi Everyone,

I have a 1993 Honda 4DR Sedan DX, it has a stock engine. Today while I was stopped at a stop light it just stopped (fourth time it has done it and 1st after new battery). It started up fine, but does anyone know what could cause the low rpm's and then it would just die at the light? I have just replaced the battery. Should I replace the spark plug wires and spark plugs?

I know I'm in need of a new timing belt and alternator and power steering belt, could this be the problem. I noticed that the belts do have some oil on them also. I also noticed that the radiator fan does not turn on at operating temperatures, what can cause that? I had the fan tested and it started up with the wire test, could that be the thermostat or the sensor? I think I also might have the head gasket going bad, but I have yet to see smoke out of my tail pipe and it bearly passed the smog check in California in October. I was told it could be an O2 sensor problem. When I slow down I sometimes hear a grinding sound when I have the clutch engaged or it could be the engine I'm not sure and I hear a rattling sound from the exhaust.

If anyone could help me in these area I would very much appreciate it.

THANK YOU!!!

What you need is a complete maintenance job. Take it to a dealer or mechanic and tell them you need a complete tune up.

Sounds like you have been neglecting your car for a while. Pretty rare for this many things to go wrong all at once.

Sounds like that 93 is not in good shape, one proplem after another....
O2 sensor will not cause stalling, although you may need a new one anyway. Try a tune up, Get some OEM NGK plugs and put them in yourself, YOu need a tuneup man.

Re: Help Please!!! I don't know what is wrong...

don't try to drive it anymore. it's an oil leak on the front (true front) side of the engine. possibly the front main seal, valve cover gasket, or a bad head gasket.
does it overheat, or duz the temp needle get above half?
sounds like u r losing oil, and that's y it's running slow due to increased friction on the bearings. the grinding noise is most likely from the thrust bearing having worn down. u'r probably real close to spinning a bearing if u haven't already. my reason for these suggestions, is the obvious neglect of the car.
