I've got a few problems which I think stem from the security function on my JCG Limited. First the dash panel (speedo, odo & other gauges as well as gear box) stopped working after the alarm went off because of discharged battery (I already tried working the dimmer and checking the fuse). Then I began noticing upon start and kill of engine that there is a series of 4 high pitched beeps that I can't seem to figure out. Is there a link between these two things?
Another unrelated problem, but a problem nonetheless - often my 4WD will not shift back into 2WD. The console panel indicates that its in 2WD, but driving soon tells me otherwise. Would backing 10ft after disengaging the 4WD help? When I took it into a mechanic (not a Jeep/Chrysler place) they replaced the motor mount - but it has continued. Thanks |

Try disconnecting the battery again and wait 5 or so minutes to let the computer reset, Sometimes it works.
As far as the 4wd check fluid level (should be at bottom of filler hole on transfer case) and proper type. make sure all tires are same pressure/type/tread depth. backing up several feet does works most of the time but can be annoying/dangerous. |

Re: `93 JGC Limited security beep?
We did disconnect the battery again and wait a while - I'm not sure it was 5 minutes or anything (it was 27 degrees F and snowing... we were cold and tired by that point).
I've had the 4WD looked at and such, so I'd hope all the fluid levels are up. I just had my tires rotated too, so I'll check on the 4WD again. If not I may just back it up everytime. Why is backing up dangerous? |

I always had trouble with the 4wd in a 87 cherokee. A few times i had 2 back up on the roadway to disengage the TC and not everybody watches where their going
take some snow and you may have a problem. Good luck |
