05 Trailblazer LS stalling while accell.?

Hello,

Was wondering if anyone had any insight or if this has happened to anyone else. I have an 05 TB LS with just over 2,000 miles on it and on a couple of occasions the thing just dies while accellerating from an intersection. Its really frustating becuase you could be pulling out into an intersection and have this happen which intern could easily cause an accident. Taking it in tomarrow but fear they aren't going to find anything becuase after it dies you can start it right up and take off. We have only had a couple months and it seems to happen once a month. So any insight on this would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Chad

Again...we have read your question, just that it never has happened to me & I can't think of the reason why it would be doing that.

The dealer will tell you they can't fix it unless a dummy light is on......

Wish you the best of luck to that unfortunate ordeal.

Mine has done similar things before. Turned out to be the gas cap was not on tight. The pressurized fuel system is very sensitive on these things. I did not believe it until it started happening to me. Make sure your fuel cap is on tight (about 10 clicks) and make sure you do not over fill the tank and saturate the vapor canistor, as this can result in the same type of problems with the TB.

Thanks Chris

If that was the case...it should have thrown a code. Did your's not throw a code when it happened? (just curious)

I have a 02 TB, Get your throttle body butterfly checked out. unfortunately our vehicles don't have a cable attached to it. It is computer operated by a sensor. you can have someone push the accelerator while you look at it, and if it opens slowly or sticks then you know that's the problem. I had to get mine cleaned.

My 2005 2WD 9K miles was doing the same thing early this week. It stalled on me twice while trying to take off, however it started right back up. I would also be driving about 35-40MPH 1500RPM and it would loose power and like die down to about 1000RPM then go back to normal. It did this on multiple occasions. Later this week i was doing 70MPH on the expressway, tach was at 2000RPM it dropped down a few 100RPM and the check engine light came on. Used my OBDII reader and pulled a P0130 - O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction code. Was going to take it the dealer but the light went off by the time I got to work yesterday. Not sure what caused it but that hasn't happened since, however its now idles at 900-1000RPM.

Some times when I drive thru water on the road the the 02 sensor will cause a code to be set. In each case I have reset the engine light and it will not come on again until I drive thru water again.
Really nothing to worry about.

Mine is doing the same thing again. It only seems to cut out when the tank is full to 3/4.

Both of you guys with 05's should be in the service mgr's office if you cannot get this fixed at the dealership and forget the gas cap issue, not related to stalling here.

my 05 did this to me too. would be taking off and it would just die. no check engine ever came on either. took it to my dealership and they told me it had to be programed again. that there were others having the same problem. have never had it die on me again. but have plenty of other problems with it..LOL

What is a "OBDII reader", how do I get one, and how much it it?
I assume it is some kind of computer reader.

thanx
