Hazards

I have a 97 Taurus and the flashers do not come on when I press the button on the steering column. Is there a switch or relay that runs the flashers that can go bad and where is it? I checked the fuses and they are all good. I also have a problem with the blinkers not shutting off by themselves after you straighten the wheel back out. Would this have to do with whatever is wrong with the flashers? I read another forum that it could be the multifunction switch in the steering column. Does the 95 Taurus have the same multi-switch as my 97?

Re: Hazards

there is a relay for the hazard lights it is under the driver side dash best bet would be to get a new one and compair to find it cuz im not certain exactly where it is, I had a 93 sable same problem but somebody already changed it once so it was not attached where it is supposed to be it was just hangin, as for turning signals the multi switch is bad thats why signals dont shut off if u arent good with fixin stuff have somebody with some experiance change it. u could set the air bag off if u mess with the steering colum. at lest disconnect the negative battery terminal if you want to try to fix it your self. Get a chilton or hayns manual too they come in handy.
