SE-R vs. cavalier

Hello..im thinking about getting this 1993 nissan sentra.. not sure if its SE or SE-R... i was told it was a turbo.... so would that make it the 1.6L or the 2.0L engine? note: i still havent seen the car yet... and its an auto... but here is my question.. will this car out run a 1989 2.8L chevy cavalier 5spd????? thanks in advance....

Those did not come with a turbo. If it is an se-r (2.0 liter) they might have put a turbocharger on it. So SR20DE-T.
Whether turbocharged or not a se-r should take a cavalier.

the Cavalier is a joke. of course the Sentra could beat it, even more so with engine mods.

finally saw the car... it is a 1993 nissan sentra SE-R. (2.0)L... couldnt test drive it because the only thing it needs is an alternator... which it isnt connected, so i couldnt run it off the battery.... but any ways.. what do you guys think of it hold up to a 1999 cougar v6 auto? or a 1994 cavalier 2.2l 5 spd? or even yet what about a 1989 camaro z28 iroc??? has a 305 Lb9, auto.... the camaro runs so and so.. not the best.. all these cars that will be on the "track" are all stock... and here is a note: in the quater mile the 1994 cavalier 5spd actually only stayed one car behind the camaro.. that amazed me.... and i cant run my opel on the street untill i can afford a new carb... by the way what are some good up grades for the SE-R?

Re: SE-R vs. cavalier

That would concern me a bit. Even if the alt was not connected, it should start. It may not stay running, but you should be able to hear it turn over and just start till you release the key.

no i didnt try to start it.. i just didnt want to fry the battery in it by trying to start it... one of my motto's is "do something right or dont do it at all.." well i just need to know what i would need to put into it to get it to run the quater mile in about 16 seconds or less...

Re: SE-R vs. cavalier

Intake, Headers, And Exuast Should Do It Like I Said Earlier It Has Lsd And Its Not A Heavy Car....if You Want It To Run Faster I Would Suggest Getting Cams Or Consider Getting A Turbo. The Sr20 Handle Nitrous Pretty Dam Good So That Would Be A Cheap Way Of Getting You Across In Less Time Also

I just recently raced a 97' auto convertibe GT mustang, and up till 100mph he had a little over 2 cars on me. You will absolutely walk all over 4 cylinder mustangs, and should be able to beat 6 cylinder mustangs auto for sure but I havent raced a 5 speed but I expect it to be about the same. My car has a centerforce clutch disk/pressure plate/T.O bearing, and a ghetto rigged K&N cone filter. Good vid. BTW that sunfire is pretty quick off the line.

Hey wuts up, I own a 95 Nissan 200sx with a SR20DET with a stock turbo i get about 200Hp flat and know that i added the essential i get about 250hp+ the thing is i haven't dyno it. But stock the 2.0l come with 140hp and the 1.6l come with 120hp but the spec's on the se-r it's able to do a 1/4 mile in 14seconds. The other thing mine is a 5Sp and not an auto.

hello again.. well i wish this car was a stick shift(1993 nissan sentra SE-R).. but its not, so i guess i can live with it.. hell i only paid 300 for it.. then all i have to replace is the alternator.. which i got for under 65.... so here is so more questions... how do you think this car would hold up against a 1999 cougar v6 auto? both cars are stock.. nissan has 148,000 and cougar has 190,000. and if that car would win stock, would mods would i have to do to beat it?
