altitude adjusting
I am bringing my truck up to my house that is carberated. Its coming from like 17 sea level up to 4000 sea level. I know you have to adjust the carb and retard the timing when it changes elevation but how long does it take to finally adjust, As in i know that right when you get there its not all of a sudden going to change but how many hrs or days will it take to finally kick in and therfore ill have to adjust it.
I just dont want it to like overload on me in like a week when im driving around. Also, Any tips on how to tell that stuff? thanx david |

Re: altitude adjusting
What carb.? You need to lean it out some. Feedback carbs. can react more slowly, but the jetting still needs to be adjusted. A web search for your carb. may help. Local shops could also be a good source of info.
