I have a flowmaster 40 series on my 2.2. Sounds pretty good to me. But I think unless it's an Xtreme S10 then a glasspack may be a little out of place on a pickup, more likely to be on a ricey little car. I would suggest a flowmaster or something similar if you're going for a little more grunt in the exhaust note without trying to sound like a ricey little punk (no offense).

I also THINK it would sound like poop. Would probably sound a lot like those damn ricer cars. I intend offense toward them by that statement.

Re: glasspack on a 4cyl

i wont say its going to sound like poop, ill say its going to sound like my honda civic with a echo (fart can) muffleler, if you want a nice sound, buy a bigger moter lol. searously for something that size flowmaster 40's should be enough flow, for anything louader i reccomend flow go (what i have, ill get a sound clip when i can and when i figgure out how to) or ravin z33 or z 55, i dont like the midas guys around here so i did the flo go, it sounds realy nice imo, and another imo, glasspacks sound like shit.

A better alternative for you would be a Dynomax catback system with their "turbo" muffler. The muffler flows very well and is just slightly louder than the stock unit..... for the 2.2 or the 2.5 "Iron Duke" engines this is probably the best setup.

These engines are not your silky smooth, high revving DOHC aluminum motors found in Honda's and the like... rather they are cast iron, OHV, pushrod actuated, antideluvian mechanical assemblages designed for low speed service in small cars and trucks fitted with automatic transmissions..... and they *WILL* sound like crap with a glass pack.

Re: glasspack on a 4cyl

i have a glass pack on my 4 cyl. and obviously none of you have heard it cause it doesnt sound that bad...it sounds a hell of a lot better then those gay ricers driving around..and the plus is the sounds gets better the more you break the pack in...so dont knock it till you've heard it and its also a good way to go if you dont want to spend much money

cant sound that good either of corse it doesnt sound like those rice burning forign cars, i own one, and they do something right, because that babby runs sooo much smooher then a domestic 4, in theory glass pacs would sound good on a chevy 4 cylender, but in theory communizm is the ultimate way of life, but we all know how that one turned out dont we

Re: glasspack on a 4cyl

So you want a glasspack on it. Why dont you just go full redneck and do straight pipes.j/k. I personally think the glasspacks have too much of a pop sound. I used to have an 87 silverado with a 350 and glasspacks. I thought i was the shit until i heard a flowmaster. Glasspacks are louder though if thats what you like...
