antenna

i have a 96 teg and my antenna is stuck up when i turn off the radio u can hear it trying to go down but it doesnt. why is this?

It could be that it has a dent or bend in the antenna not allowing it to go down

antenna

your mast in the antenna (the cabel inside) is broken. the noise you hear is the motor turning on and off. the motor is fine but you need to replace the mast. in my opinion, your better off to replace your whole antenna. for the headach it will give you and the cost, its better to get a whole new antenna. try your local radio shop. Metra makes replacement power antennas and they are about 50 bucks. hope i could help
