'94 blower motor, bolt on vs press on?
I need to replace a blower motor on a Transport I just bought. The problem is that the vehicle is 2 states away and I dont know what the existing one looks like. And I am told that there are 2 types of blower motor. One has is a press on impeller and the other is a bolt on. I was just going to get one from my local scrapyard prior to picking up the vehicle, but wanted to make sure I got the right one. I'm really going to need some heat on the windshield since its going to be quite wintery this week. Anyone with some knowledge on this?

If you take YOUR REPLACEMENT FROM the scrapyard, I think you will have both the motor AND the impeller as one unit...so......

I dont have the option of taking the original with me since its in the vehicle still, 2 states away. So I kinda have to know proir to buying one new or pulling one from a junker before i go to pick up the van.

I think my previous reply did not mean what I intended..(edited now) .
Since they used 2 variants as you say, there is no sure way to know which one YOUR vehicle has: they may switch suppliers even in the same year model. However, if you buy a complete unit (motor AND impeller) at a scrapyard taken from a Transport (or may be from several other large GM cars of those years ) , it will replace yours, be it bolt on or snap on impeller.

The drawing here is from the transport manual, while the photo in the corner is from a '93 bonneville.
 To me they are the same, the bolt pattern of the metal plate looks a like and that is logical, and this applies to all large oldsmobile 88,98 and large buicks of that vintage. Print the picture and bring it for a comparison with what the have in the yard. Usually, salvage operators have books that tell about commonality of parts.
