Mounting Jerry cans?

I have an 88 runner. I want to get some jerry cans but don't know how they mount onto the vehical. Can I mount them inside the truck safely? If not is there a way to mount them outside which will allow me to open my back gate?

Is there a way to get a larger gas tank installed so I don't need Jerry cans?

Re: Mounting Jerry cans?

I had an 14 gallon aux fuel tank mounted on top of where th spare tire was on my old 88. worked great! the filler neck was in the wheel well and was gravity fed to the front tank. I modified mine with a pump because I wanted to keep the gas in the rear for as long as possible for the weight, then hit the switch to transfer the gas to the front tank when needed. I got mine from Downey offroad:
www.downeyoff-road.com
but came to find out they were manufactured by Arrow tanks? in Corona, Ca area. Oh yeah they also make just a bigger gas tank too.
I can't find any info on them so maybe I have the wrong name. Anyway Downey should steer you in the right direction.
