Brakes locking up?

Hello, this is my first time posting here, and I am not too 'swift' when it comes to dealing with cars/trucks, so go easy on me I don't want to get eaten alive when I take this truck in for service!

I am having a problem with my 2002 Rodeo. After coming to a complete stop, and releasing my foot off the brake, the brakes seem to lock up twice.... immediately as the truck accelerates. It's hard to explain, but you can feel the truck actually jerk 2 times, and it seems as though it's the rear of the vehicle that is locking up. After this initial hesitation, the truck drives fine, until coming to another stop. Anyone have an idea what this may be? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Thanks for the link, and the prompt response!
Sorry I didn't see the link before I posted my question. This sounds exactly like the problem I'm having. Hopefully it's covered under warranty.
Thanks again

Re: Brakes locking up?

If it is not covered under warranty it cost me about 50 bucks to have greased, but the thump came back 6 months later.........

Well, I took the truck in today, and they said it's a transmission problem! I called the Isuzu dealer, and they claim there was a recall, and they sent me a letter. I never got it! I'm taking it in tomorrow morning...we'll see what they say.

Should this be under warranty???? It's a 2002 with 41,000k on it.
Thanks!

Re: Brakes locking up?

if there is a Recall let us know.

I would bet there is a TSB on it.

Yes If you are the second owner you are covered for 5yr/ 60k under your powertrain warranty.

1st owner is covered for 10yr 120k

Yeah..that sounds like the transmission. Has the fluid been checked? Old and burned fluid or low fluid levels can cause it to do that. Let's hope its the fluid and not something more serious.

WOOHOOO!!!!
I took my truck in today, and it just needed transmission fluid
They didn't charge me a cent, and I got a nice free car wash too. At first they were talking about charging over $50 CDN to hook it up to the diagnostics...but I was pleasently surprised when I wasn't presented with a bill! I inquired about the recall the person on the phone mentioned, and they told me that my problem wasn't associated with the recall. They were really busy, so I didn't push for an answer as to why the problem wasn't adressed now that I was there with the vehicle.

Oh, well...until next time

Thanks to all who responded.
