Complete Suspension Revamp
Hey guys,
I'm looking to get my front and rear suspension redone completely. Everything new. I was wondering how much would it cost and do they sell a whole 'kit' that has it all? Btw, I AM NOT going for a racing suspension. I want a soft-cushy ride suspension ^_^; yeah I'm a wuss. Please help? Thx!

Re: Complete Suspension Revamp
If you want a soft cushy ride, buy a cadillac. Soft and cushy = poor cornering and low traction around corners. The point of having a performance car is that they are fast, corner well, and ride like lumberwagons.

You should look at Air Ride Technologies http://www.ridetech.com/ . That is where I will eventually get mine from. I need $$$ first.

Re: Complete Suspension Revamp
Oh ok let me rephrase. I'm not looking for THAT soft and cushy.
I'm looking to replace all the stock suspension with new suspension because its all worn out. I hope that clarifies!

Air Ride's stuff is good because you can change the settings. You can have race stiff or really soft with the push of a button.

Re: Complete Suspension Revamp
k, I get it now. You could always go with adjustable shocks that way you can switch between soft for comfort and stiff for performance. Will probably cost you lots of $$ though.

Re: Complete Suspension Revamp
Fine fine more clarifying... I want to redo my suspension since its practically shot (feel every bounce, crack etc) without blowing a ton of money. Air ride & adjustable shocks areo ut of the question. I'm looking for something basic.

If your looking for replacement struts/shocks with limited resources, call around to your local autoparts stores. You should be able to get a decent set of struts and shocks for under $200. Check the sway bar links while your at it, upgrading to polyurethane bushing will help with stability in turns...

Re: Complete Suspension Revamp
If you're talkinga bout shcoks and springs go to slp and look at the bilstein/eibach package, see if that's what you're looking for..

Re: Complete Suspension Revamp
I mean EVERYTHING control arms sway bars noozle floberts, the works. My ride is bumpy as hell and can't take a turn worth a crud.
I dont neccessarily want factory specs, I'm just saying what would be good and cheap for a WHOLE setup + installation?

Re: Complete Suspension Revamp
you talk as if you just want to go back to a comfortable ride instead of having that bouncy feeling... if that's what you want you only really need shocks and (maybe) springs. (I just got some Tokico shocks off eBay, i would recommend those). You don't need to replace much else unless it's broken. But you say you want to completely redo everything...this is why everybody is telling you about the expensive stuff, cause what you say you want to do is really expensive.
If you just want a cheap setup with a good feel, buy new shocks and springs (i.e. Tokico). If you want to buy entirely new everything, even though you may not need it, look at hotchiks or air ride like they said. Your confusing everybody... An entirely new suspension is never cheap, so we don't know what you're asking for. Actually, we don't know if you know what your asking for. (not trying to sound insulting)
