2001 S-10 4.3l Rotates, But Wont Start

2001 S-10 subject to high speed through standing water from recent storm. After resting for 2 hours, vehicle started, but roughly. Ran as if missing on one or more cylinders. Vehicle sat for 4 more hours, then engine would rotate, but failed to start. Rotor button corroded from water, as well as + battery terminal. Replaced rotor button and cleaned terminal, still cranks but no start. Have accessory power. Fuel pump runs for 2 seconds with ignition on. Removed one plug wire, attached spare plug and saw visible spark when plug held to ground. ECM and IGN fuses check good. Have "service engine soon" and "battery" lights on IP illuminated. Have not purchased scan tool. Vehicle has ODB II system. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Since you only changed the rotor, I would change the cap as well.. Change the spark cables and spark plugs as well. Just because you saw it spark doesn't mean it's good. Get the vehicle scanned, that is your best bet. Drop some oil from the pan (lets say a pint) and see if there is any water in it. Also pull your plugs and crank the motor a couple of times to make sure that no water is in the chambers.

Start with those things and we can go from there on narrowing down the issues.

your indicater lights will stay until engine starts. if they dont go off after start then you need to read codes.
autozone and pepboys does this for free.
might want to check all wire connections and make sure they are dry. are you getting fuel?
