Paint/decals and clearcoat question

Hey guys i havent been around here in a lonnnnnggg time, but i back now, i started on a model and i was wondering when you paint and wetsand than paint again do you add the decals than clear coat and wetsand the clear and than rubbing compound??, i need to do a Nascar model for a friend and i want this paint job to look awsome, but i was just wondering what the approch is to this....thanks

Re: Paint/decals and clearcoat question

For me, I paint, then clearcoat, then compound, then add decals, then put in a display case. That's it.

Some others will paint, then wetsand, then paint, then coumpound, then decals and no clearcoat.

If your paint is metallic you must not sand or use compound on its final coat. Instead, apply the clearcoat and polish this with the compound.

Just do whichever method you feel comfortable and confident with.
