Exhaust manifold studs..

1.9..the end one fell out(while driving).((Well it is NOT there now LOL))I can feel the hole with a wire..there are still threads in the head.Anyone know off hand what size thread they are? This is the stud on the right side.Next to impossible access. It would be extremely difficult to do a "see if this stud/bolt will work thing".This is a put the right stud in there in the first place job.Simple..a quick call the Ford dealer.I get this from the parts guy(GOOD parts guy!).."I have NO idea why these are SO!! expensive OR what the deal with them.I double checked/triple checked..EVEN the size isn't listed??..they have to be orderred from the States..about 4 days..they are $37." So I say.."naa..I don't want a kit..just one".."HAHA..that is for 2..two of them buddy.." If I know the thread size then I can simply get another stud/bolt.Guess I could go to a machine shop..see a head..or go to a bone.LOL.IF someone could help me out..that would be a LOT! easier..Thanks..I am guessing metric anyway??..Thanks..

I could be dilled here.Might have to buy the friggin' stud for the $37.AND SEE. I phoned a couple machine shops and bones.FIRST IF you have "lost" a stud that pretty much means that the head MUST have cracked into the exhaust port..RIGHT where the stud is..hence by bye stud..HEAD .Second..These Ford Escort heads.FORGET about getting the studs out.The bones say I am welcome to come and try..and have a FREE stud/bolt..BUT they say that I WILL be able to get the nut off the stud..BUT when I double nut the stud to pull the stud..out.It WILL break..leaving me again..no way of determining the size I need.I am NOW wondeerring IF they are a pressed in stud..and the BONEHEAD previous owner..did this tapping..as it does have threads.
