2003 Grand Am Strange Electrical Trouble

Hi Everyone! I have spent several days surfing around this site so I hope I'm not asking a repetitive question. I have a 2003 Grand Am, 2.2L Four, Automatic, 33000 miles. It has two intermittant problems that I dont know if they are related. Occasionally when starting, the car will start fine, the dash lights come on but the gauges sit there. They could sit for 5 seconds or 30seconds then the gauges spring to life, the idiot lights come on, and all is well. Will not do that while running, justs on start ups. And it has a slight miss at cruising speeds. Miss is VERY intermittant, and Pontiac claims it doesnt miss at all. But I can feel it. Thanks for your time!
