for the americans here

i was in waterville valley, new hampshire this weekend with the hockey team and saw some cool shit..

these are sideways pics of them raising an american flag for troops coming home from iraq after a year.

me and a few of the guys had a conversation with one of the moms who's son was coming home.. she said that they had been there for a year and the plane had just arrived that afternoon (saturday).. so they were all being bussed to the local high school in plymouth to see their families and friends.. there was a total of 3 full busses like this one, which drove between the fire trucks, under the flag with the whole town crowded around makin a hell of a lot of noise for then

i just found it to be a reality check in that these guys had seen shit i will never see or experience outside of the movie theatre or museum. no matter how proud i am to be canadian, i admire the patriotism and courage you yanks have. this was just kind of a reality check cause i saw one of the guys at our hotel with some of his friends who didn't go overseas.. this guy had a stare on his face like he was still looking at shit happening in iraq.. scarred for life.. they were an artillery so i know they had fired a ton of shit off.. they brought back these huge fuckin guns being towed by trucks and i know those guns had killed people.. maybe you had to be there but for the guys who have come back, are in or are going overseas for the usa, best of luck..

i know this is off topic but since most of the guys on here don't check the off topic part of this forum it didn't seem like anyone would be able to relate.. anyways, any comments would be cool

and by the way, check out how slick our bus driver was.. keep in mind it was a 52 passenger coach.. brand spankin new (even had hid's)

Re: for the americans here

we went 1-2 and obviously didn't make it into the second round. we had 1 game friday night, won 6-2, then played saturday morning and night and got blown away both games.. something was wrong, we played brutal games on saturday.. but we play at home against northwood prep from lake placid on saturday, and they beat us on saturday morning so we're gonna look to fuck 'em right back up.. i had a slow fuckin weekend, one goal no assists.. thats ok though.. this year is basically over, saturday is the last game.. next year will be good.. we'll be just as good as any D-3 school..

edit: check out out website for info if you want.

i can just look down my pants to see a big gun, ooooooooooooooooweeeeeee!!! lol

i feel bad for those guys in Iraq. they have no fuckin idea whose foe or friend. suicide bombers driving into their convoys n shit, kids blastin at them, gunfire coming out of no where. its just hard stuff for us people back here in the homeland to comprehend what those guys do day in and day out. maybe i'm just uninformed, but what the fuck are they fighting for? we caught saddam and all the major military leaders the US wanted, so why the hell are soldiers still over there. man, the Marines are takin hits daily now......

Saddam sells the oil. If we don't get some kind of stable, capable government going, then more malicious individuals begin to run the country and sell the oil. They make a profit and spend thier money for bad as well. Only the strongest survive so we have to help the smart survive.

I definately give major props to all of our soilders over there. I know two people that have been over there so far, both Marines. Thank you to all of the men and women fighting for our country, whether its right or wrong cause.

Re: for the americans here

It doesn't matter why you guys went over there, the bottom line is, the States kicked out some piece of shit when every other country was writing their 3rd "angry letter".

Re: for the americans here

I too have a friend in Iraq, with the 278th Cav. As far as our troops being in Iraq still....look how long we stayed in Japan and Germany after WWII. We just now pulled out of one of our largest bases in Germany. The combat may be over, but we will be policing Iraq for a few more years. As for the oil....get real, the government isn't that obvious. If the US government wanted the oil, they would have been a hell of a lot sneakier.
