Re: bov!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ssqv cant be recirculated. do a search on "venting bov" before you decide on what kind you want.

I just bought the Greddy type- RS BOV and i didnt realizethat their isnt a recerculation kit for it yet ( i think its out earlyer than expected thats why the Recirculation kit isnt out till liek march or something ) and i was woundering if when i install it will their be any problems besides maby a diference in the idle of the car ? and since my car isnt heavily upgrade it shouldnt make a difference in my performance right ?

concidering my car was upgraded to say 400HP and i put on a NON-Circulated BOV would it lessen the perfomance of the vehicle ?? if so i wana know WHY or why not....im curious to how exactaly the recirculating BOV works and how it works diferently when not. sorry if this is too long lol.

Re: bov!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is an absolute shitload of info already out there on venting vs recirculating, since it probably the most common question asked in any dSM forum. Spend a little time searching. I could write for hours about this subject, but to be honest I couldn't be arsed.

Re: bov!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what a can of worms this thread is... LMAO...

but just because it is late and i feel as though i haven't been sharing my load of newby ass questions here it goes...

don't start off venting the BOV. recirc it. that ebay kit is ok i suppose but that is a pretty vauge cut and paste. next time try a link. also check out Dejon Tools pipes.

i have both the Type-S and the Type-RS. i vent and i got a shitload of mods that make it so that i don't stall. i'm not sure what the magic mod is though. i like the -S much more. the sound is much cooler. when you rev at a light there is no mistaking a -S. one time a silly WRX was reving at me and it took a bit of a load to get a bunch of boost up to warrant a nice ping from the BOV. it is just really quiet with a no load rev. a -S is a great sound from any rev...

do a search on vent and see what pops up for the diffs on vent/dump...

Moving a hotwire MAF post BOV, or going to speed density.

the hks ssq can be recirculated. there is a kit they sell, hell on ebay i think it's like $15. it's a small metal tube. you take the hks cover off the bov, take the insert out, and replace it with the tube. then hook up the dump tube to it.

Re: bov!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm half tempted to start talking about BOVs again, but the lack of searching kind of pissed me off.

A BOV is a good mod because the 2g one leaks for some people. It doesn't mean you need to buy the loudest one. the HKS recirculates, I have seen it.

Exhaust, 300 bucks wont buy a lot unless you get a custom one made (or do it yourself). A brand name catback will be $400 and a downpipe $200+. A blow off valve won't make you much faster if any, it will be fixing a stock leak, not improving performance.
