'69 Camaro

Hi everybody, I've been busy with school and basketball lately so I haven't had much time to draw. But this is my latest work.. and yes it's another car. Hope you like it.

btw, sorry about the scan. It came out really grainy.

Alex

Re: Re: '69 Camaro

I am in awe of the work on this forum. I am truely humbled.

Alex, I went to you site. all of your art is unbelievable! I was very impressed on teh piece you did with the car done in 'color shifting' paint (I think dupont calls it 'chrome illusion') any hoo I have never seen someone be able to capture the look until now! Good job!

Re: '69 Camaro

yet another amazing piece.
if this is a bad scan, then I cant even imagine how realistic this piece must look in person.

Hey Alex!

Amazing work. As all your other works.
Your reflections are amazing.

I hope you don't get up set with me if I ask you what techniques do you use. Cause i know you use reference pictures, all your drawing just looking at Google you find the exact same picture. But how do you transfer the original image to the drawing with so many details.
Your free hand drawing are years away from those one you draw using photos.

This Camaro original picture

Other example:
Your site Harley Davidson

The Original Harley Davidson found at Google

I realy hope you don't be up set with me. I'm not saying any thing about using reference pictures, cause copy as you do is more than a talent. But might be any tips you can give us.
My english is "more or less" so forgive me if the message might sound "bad" or unpolitely ok?!

Bye!
Magliano

Re: '69 Camaro

Well i think alex is using a grid, and it's actually not so hard drawing with grids, i mean to get the proportions right, its just for that u have the grid

Alex is a real talent, and he takes a lot of time to his drawings.

Re: '69 Camaro

Thanks for the comments everybody.

Magliano: For the drawings without reference, I only take around 30-45 mins max usually. When I use a reference and the grid method, it can sometimes take up to 20, even about 30 hours to complete a drawing. My reference picture is always smaller than my actual drawing (maybe about 25% smaller), so i'm not copying 100% from the ref pic. I also do a very detailed line drawing before i start shading or coloring.

Drumcat and Civichic: I'll pm about the prints.

Alex

Re: '69 Camaro

Thanks Alex!

Thanks for understand! I realy didn't mean to say that you copy the drawings, your shading technic is awesome!

I'm working hard to draw better. But talent is a talent.

Keeps us update to your drawings.

Thanks
Magliano

Re: '69 Camaro

Thanks for the comment Magliano.

I thought I'd post some sketches on this thread instead of starting a new thread. I'm doing a bunch of bodykit designs using small ref pics from magasines, which is why they're all at different angles. I'm also practicing proportions and freehand sketching with these. Any c&c is appreciated

Celica

Concept (kinda looks like a lambo) No ref pics used

'34 ford coupe and Tiburon

NSX and S2K - I'll post a rear view of the NSX soon

Impreza:

Thanks for looking
