Broken PS mirror 2003 tahoe

The passenger side mirror on my 2003 Tahoe has a crack down the middle. It is a power, folding mirror. For some reason I can't find a replacement on any of the web sites offering replacements. Either they don't have the 2003, or the power or both.

Is there something special about this mirror that it's so hard to find?

Suggestions on replacement - the whole thing or some way to just fix the glass?

10 q's

John: Isn't this covered under warranty? I had the same problem, the dealer advised me that "heated" mirrors sometimes crack in the colder weather. He replaced it under warranty.... unless you're out of warranty.

Yes... there is a glass replacement. My dealer did the repair.

OK great - It is still under warranty - I thought someone must have hit it in a parking lot thus a damage problem not covered. I'll give that angle a try.

Thanks!

I'm now trying to determine if the mirrors are heated. I bought the truck used so don't have the sticker. I've been told the heated mirrors have an engraving that shows they are heated. I don't see that in mine.

Any idea how to tell?

Check the RPO codes on the sticker in the glove box. If you have a DL8 you have heated mirrors if you have DL3 they are not.

Thanks for the info on codes

That was some of the best advice I've gotten on this forum. Thanks a 3/4 ton!

I have DL8, so now I can go to the dealer with confidence. I got bad advice from the water cooler crew at work.

I noticed that there are lots of codes on that lid. Is there somewhere I can go for decipher them? I would really like to know the exact options on my truck. GM, in their typical user unfriendly way told me the only way to get the options installed on my vehicle is via a third party, paid request. That was BS from GM, in my opinion, especially after I went through the trouble of signing up for their owner forum.
