2001 won't start...

Alright, I've got a 2001 3.4 V6. I drove it last night, it ran fine, and earlier today I went to start it, and it won't start for anything. All my fluids are just fine, nothing is leaking, nothing that I noticed is unplugged, the battery is charged, and everything is kicking on as it should, it just won't start. The only thing I haven't checked yet is my fuses. With that in mind, are there any fuses that will cause the car to not start if they're blown? I don't see ANYTHING that would be causing a problem. I hope somebody can help me.

We think it might be something to do with the fuel. We're not sure though. What kind of problems with the fuel would make it not start? I know the fuel pump is fine, but what else could it be?

Re: 2001 won't start...

Injector's not pulsing. clogged fuel filter(although this one is highly unlikely that on a 01 that it would have gotten clogged to the point of not starting at all) or the pump could be functioning but not delivering the correct pressure. Any line in the fuel system being crimped or a faulty fuel pressure regulator. Simple fuel pressure test and the use of a noid lite will help narrow this down.

hey i had the same problem. i took it to a mechanic and the 2001's were installed with a security device. that shuts the fuel pump off. well not completely off it just shuts down the fuel pressure enough so it wont start. i have the ignition code if you want it. email me. [email protected]

Re: 2001 won't start...

2 yrs ago, wife's 2001 lost all power while she was driving. Got it home and replaced fuel pump then ran fine. Now with a 2002 she drove home last night. We got in it today and the starter runs but no fire. Seems like fuel pump again. No smell from the exhaust.

Re: 2001 won't start...

...posted previously that this is probably the fuel injector. Well, I found the test valve on the end of the injector rail. I don't have a guage so i decided to just push in the pin and see if fuel came out at all. With the car cranking it sprayed out. THEN the car started and ran! cause may have been vapor lock or unprimed pump. <---why? don't know but this teknique is a much easier fix that replacing a fuel pump or filter
