If your car came with the high-end trim or SS package chances are they are concealed wipers. If you can look at the chrome panel the blades rest on you might see wear marks that indicate where they rested in the off position. If it's low on the trim there concealed. You can find the wiper motors from donor cars all these cars if equipt with concealed wipers will interchange. 68-72 Chevelle; 68-72 Lemans; 68-72 Cutlass; w/o shaft lever control 68-72 Skylark w/o shaft lever control; 70-72 Camero 70-72 Monte Carlo 70-72 Firebird; 70-72 GMC Sprint. Hope this helps with your quest.

I came across the part numbers
concealed wiper motor is 4939586 non-concealed wiper motor is 4918442 Also none of the non-concealed parts are interchangeable with the concealed, other than the passenger side linkage. The drivers side linkage will not interchange with either style. If find a donor car with concealed wipers it's best to grab the linkage also. It's only 5 small bolts and the unit slids out. |
