2001 Sebring Conv - Radio lights blinking
I have a 2001 Sebring Convertible. The car battery died so my wife jumped it and it started and ran but the radio would not work, blinking lights on the 3 equalizer lights. The CD ejects CD's etc. I have removed both fuses to the radio but after replacing fuses same situation. I have replaced battery but no change in radio but after one day car was dead again - wondering if radio is draining the battery. Two dealers told me there are no codes on this radio /with 4 CD Changer. Any assistance appreciated.

Radio Flicker Help
saw your post on this forum about your radio flicker. I have a 2002 sebring convertible and the radio sometimes stops working and begins to flash. It seems to happen when it is hot outside. If the car is in the garage overnight, it works fine in the morning. If I go out at the end of the day in the hot sun, it just blinks at me with no sound. If it is a cool day or very cloudy, the radio will work. Sometimes while the radio is working, if I turn down the volume or hit the turn signal - it will start blinking again with no sound. Some type of electrical problem.
Any clues since you had a similar problem? |

Re: Radio Flicker Help
I have had the same problem when it gets hot my radio will not work and the lights will flicker. Has anyone found a soulution to the problem. I will take mine apart next week and run some test to see if it is the radio or a some wiring problems.
UPDATE Okay i got home and ripped my Radio out (Very easy). I discovered it was the problem with the input for the dimmer switch. You could have it replace. But there is a conector that just has one wire running it. You just have to pull that wire in the back of the radio. You are not able to dim the display so it is always the brightess setting but it is a really easy way to fix the problem. Ryan Last edited by stortecky; 09-26-2005 at 05:53 PM. Re: 2001 Sebring Conv - Radio lights blinking
I have same problem of the 3 LEDs flashing on the radio even with the key out.
Pulling the fuse (under the hood) for the brake lights stops the flashing. This indicates there is a short between the radio and the wiring for the brake lights. However, don't drive with the fuse out! I am working to track it down more. It seems that many people are having the same problem. If anyone has additional information please post it. Update: Pulled the radio, and applied power on the bench. The problem is in the radio. Traced it down to the display which has been damaged internally. I believe the LEDs will flash whenever the main board cannot communicate with the display board. In my case, I will need a new radio. Last edited by R.M.; 02-22-2007 at 04:35 PM. |

I have a 96 Sebring that I posted about. When I first bought it, my radio did the same thing. It would not play at all and then just start playing or if I had a CD in I could not get it out or to play, and it would start playing and I could not choose tracks, it played it's own
! I ended up replacing my stereo . Is your stock? Mine was. However, your car is alot newer than my was but that was my misfortune with my stereo.
