Hey,
I just noticed that my Automatic Seatbelts don't tighten up when I pull really hard (with the engine on) I was wondering if anyone succesfully ever tried to fix that. I took off the cover on the retractors and can see that there are two covers inside, one of them says "Do Not Remove". The other one doesnt and there are wires going into it. I guess thats for the tensioner to turn off as the seatbelts rolls into place. Any suggestions? Thanks, Frank Yes I know Auto S/B;s are not cool and pose a severe strangulation risk, but they save $200 a year in car insurance. '91 Civic DX Sedan. 175K, Paid $600 '02. |

Re: How to tighten Automatic Seat Belts
you can 200 a year by switch to geico
![]() take it to honda, let them look at it. honda warranties all seat belts for life so if the seatbelt is defective, they will replace it for you for free. take it to honda and see if they will do it for free |

i thought mine didnt work...lol try this get a passanger....get up to about 30 mph and slam on the breaks and turn really hard ... they kinda work like a shock sensor. you have to have that g-force. mine also worked on the skid pad ...lol (the passaneger is to see if it works...you dont wanna let go and fly out of your window...lol)

Re: How to tighten Automatic Seat Belts
my seatbelts in the front seat also don't lock as easily as the back seatbelts. like in other cars i bend down to pick something up and cant cuz it locks. but in the civic it doesnt lock that easily. it needs a hard jerk to lock though for me.
