if you could change one thing about the stock 3g it would be....

I know we've all thought about it so what would you have different about the stock 3g?

It could be anything - engine, exterior, interior, audio, turbo model, awd model, rwd model whatever you can think of.

I know I've seen a lot of people wish for DOHC instead of SOHC and other engine/exhaust related improvements from stock form but I haven't heard much from the other sides.

For me I'm pretty satisfied with everything except for the doors, I just don't like the indented lines across the doors and wish they were just flat.

note - please don't think this is a thread just to bash our 3g's, I was just wondering what everyone would have liked to have different about the stock 3g, the same could be asked for any other car.

I dont have one but , i thought it would look a whole lot better if the top didnt look like flatted vw beetle. "i" think the spyders look a little better. and the bumper doesnt make the headlights look right. but dont get me wrong i'd still get one cause they dont look as bad as people say.

turbo would help out. then it wouldnt matter that it weights so much and it would be cheaper to make it faster

I wish the 3g had two changes:

1. A stock turbocharged engine, I dont know why mitsu dropped that.

2. Better looking rims, stock 3g rims (RS, GS, GT, whatever) are ugly. All of them are.

the reason they dropped the turbo is b/c the 3G was targeted to the older generation. it was never suppose to be a tuner car.

i actually liked the GT/GTS rims. but the RS/GS rims are ugly

OBD3 is the ecu code. OBD3 are not able to be hacked, therefore there are no chips made for our cars

It's too bad mitsubishi never put out a rwd turbo eclipse for the masses to enjoy. Man that would've been sweet.

The turbo AWD 2G's were only about 10% or so of the total market of 2G's sold. So Mitsu thought that turbo AWD models were a lost cause.

Its called a Starion!!!!!! And the reason they went to a SOHC is because they were able to achieve better power/ emissions/ and economy. The only thing I wish they would of kept is the Turbo AWD, but that's why I picked up my Talon. My eclipse is just my cruising car. It also might of been nice of them to of kept the 4G63, and just put a factory stroker kit making it a 2.3L. Would it kill them to lighten the car up too? The Corvette weighs just as much as our cars.

And the corvette costs 3-4 times as much.

To be honest, IMHO, the 4G64 with forged internals is a much better engine than the 4G63. If only it were available in DOHC.
