Ignition key cylinder problems

The ignition key on my 89 s-10 won't turn all the way to get the engine started. I'm guessing that it has something to do with the cylinder because it had been locking up on me lately, one time not able to turn the truck off without some messing with it. Any help here would be appreciated, and also, how do I get the cylinder out? Thanks!

I got it done. I did get the Hayne's manual, which I should have had a long time ago. The hardest part is having the right tools which I had to rent from the auto parts store. Thanks!

Re: Ignition key cylinder problems

don't the parts stores where you live have a loan a tool policy? In Canada even Canadian tire will loan you some special tools when needed. Although they probably require a deposit for them now.
