along with the thermostat, check the hoses. If they're old they may look ok, but they could be collapsing causing a restriction in flow...

I'm not sure on a V6, but you can most likely trace the upper hose from the radiator to the intake. The upper hose should connect to the intake at the thermostat housing, remove the two bolts for the housing and you will find the thermostat...

Re: 0verheating

Here is a pic of the cooling neck/thermostat assembly.

Just Remove the 2 screws on that housing(I know its hard to see in the pic but just look in that location on your vehicle and follow the cooling line to the neck), then lift off the housing and the thermostat is right in there. Good Luck.

Re: 0verheating

Get the radiator rodded out! You got a rad that's 11 years old and if it ain't been douched out before it IS clogged with corrosion! I got a 2nd gen Z-28 with brass so I assume for sure your 94 is aluminium/plastic or aluminium or whatnot. When you drop it back in after clean out be sure to use Dexcool- the red-orange coolant. It's superior in aluminium rads.

sounds like 2 things. 1 it could have been in a bind somehow and broke a bolt and isnt making good contact with the fly wheel, or 2 it was in a bind and just broke the wheel off the starter. the only way to be sure is to get onder it and check and see what happend.
