Question probe back? (maxima vs probe)

hehe so the probe is off the road on monday, insurance is up.. so i figured to take it to work tonight for old times sake..

i get on the hi way on my way home and i see fake hids comming quick on the left lane so i wait till it passes me, a white 98 maxima with dual exhasut looks like old school apex-i world sport canisters, droped, black rims, nice clean looking car, so i decide to take gate him a lil, so he see i wana play,

he hits the strobes on me and moves into the middle lane where the traffic is clear and gasses it, i go after him, we went form 60, he got me from the begining, by 80 i was still a car behind.. im like wtf, the i start to gain by 100 on his ass, 120 or so i was ahead by 2 cars.. hehe i did the typical ricer flashers after i passed him at 120 then i let off the gass and let off a nice back fire to show him i mean business.. he kept his distance...

i scared off a civc also, a 2rd 97 with exhasust, i did wana run, kept comming along side and passing him and slowing down but he woulnd take the bait.. he tried to hang with me once and i gave him 1/2 car and my 70 i was 1 car ahead so he gave up..

im gona miss the probe, o0o well F it bigger and better is to come, i do with i had my hks ssqv on the car i would of drawn more attention.. hehe

Atleast you got one good race in before saying goodbye. What kind of car are you getting next?

Re: probe back? (maxima vs probe)

Nice kill on the Max. I remember the last time I took out the TA. I raced my buddy's 96 Maxima. He dropped in a 98 Maxima engine, and thought it was the shit when he threw on an intake. So we took it to the freeway. Needless to say by 90 I was more than a bus length ahead of him. I miss my old TA. Glad you got one last run in with your Prober. L8...

auto tranny probably doesn't help much either.

Yeah the auto tranny wouldn't help in ANY situation...except heavy traffic

no, he's got the VQ30. i'm still surprised, though, all 5th gens have at least decent top end. the 3.5 got awesome top end IMO.

Re: probe back? (maxima vs probe)

This was a Tsi FWD, not a Tsi AWD...so it had better top end than if it was an AWD (probably explains why I beat him off the line)....but yeah, once my car hits about 90ish, it drops off, then acceleration is pretty linear up until about 120...right when the DSM I raced shut down(I forgot to add this last night)I had ALMOST stopped his pull on me when we hit 105-110...I think if we would have gone to even higher speeds, I might have been able to come back on him a bit...but I/we ran out of road, so that was out of the question...but yeah, the VQ30 and the VQ35 difference is like night and day...I couldn't even hang with a modded auto VQ35 and I'd probably STILL lose to a stock auto VQ35.

Re: Re: probe back? (maxima vs probe)

vq35 has crazy top end, i know my dad has a 04 maxima.. you get to 140 and just want to keep going.. i rember on our trip to florida we tried to top out the max.. it was fun i was suprized the higher speed you went if felt like it wanted to go more...

yea the probe is still fun even tho its not in the best condition..
