code after mpfi convertion....

well i just did a dpfi to a mpfi and now my check engine light is on and its now putting out a code 9-number 1 cylinder position...i double checked all my wireing and still i am getting a code 9...i got another si distributor today and wired up everything...and still i am getting a code 9 i tried switching the blue/yellow and blue/green and it still giving out the code...the car starts up and runs but i'm worried about the code...can anyone help me out...thanks in advance.....

did you reset the code everytime you made a change ?

yeah before i switch the wires i disconnect the battery and remove the ecu fuse and after i switch the wires i connect the battery and plug in the fuse for the ecu...

you should pull the hazard fuse to reset the ecu if you dont want to disconnect the battery.

when you switched the dist did you reset the ecu then or did you just switch the dist and start it up because if you didnt reset the ecu it will still throw the code.

start over again. go back and reset the ecu by pull the hazard fuse for 10 seconds, then run it. if you get the code switch the wires, reset the ecu then run it, if you still get the code switch dists then reset the ecu then run it, if you still get the code switch the wires then reset the ecu and run it. then reset the ecu one more time jsut for fun. if it still throws the code then come back and tell us.

oh and the dist you got is it new or used ?

ok i did everything that you had listed and still the check engine light is on but now the only problem is that when i drive the car the check engine light flashes on and off and the car runs weird....oh and the distributor that i have is a used distributor but it was rebuilt with new parts...if anyone one can help...thanks in advance....

do you have access to another pm6 ecu ? i would recheck your wiring for any loose connections.

i tried using my pr4 acura ls ecu obd-0 ecu and its still throwing a code 9....i'll go and redo my wiring and i'll see if its still throwing the code...thanks....
