Fluid Capacity?

How many quarts of transmission fluid does the 1998 Malibu Auto 3.1L LS hold? Just wondering before I pull off the bottom pan and replace the filter.

It should be about 4 quarts. Make sure the new filter is installed correctly. Some of the aftermarket filters have a different sealing ring than the originals. Also when the firter comes off check to see if the o-ring came with it sometimes they are still up in the hole. If yours is a bolt on then you will probably have just a gasket.
