91 3000GT Headlights wont stop

91 3000GT and the flip up headlights wont stop going up and down. Dont laugh, OK go ahead and laugh. Even when you turn the car off and take the keys out of it, the headlights continue to go up and down.
The only way to stop them is to lock them in the up position using the button on the dash.
Has anyone ever heard of this before?
Please help.
I dont want to give all of my money to the dealership.
Yes, I checked for loose wires and cant find any.
Thanks

I had that happen to a 90' Probe that I owned. I would come out late at night to find them going up and down. It was pretty funny to watch since they weren't synchronized in their opening and closings. Anyway, I think we just pulled the fuse for the lights (or the light motor) and manually cranked them up to the on position. I sold the car soon afterwards so I didn't really pursue the problem any further. I refuse to buy cars with pop up lights because of that and other problems I have had with them. Also, do not, do not take it to a mechanic. I took mine in and he charged me something outrageous when all he did was crank them up using the manual crank. Hopefully, someone else can give more advice...

Re: 91 3000GT Headlights wont stop

there is a headlamp relay on our cars that power up the motors for the headlight lifting, it is sticking and needs to be replaced. i dont know where it is located but that will be your problem for sure.
