help with removing the stereo please.
Greetings, I have a 96 Achieva and I just bought an mp3/cd player to replace the factory tape player that is currently in it. How do I go about removing the factory stereo? I'm not to familiar with this type of thing, I've looked it over but have found no screws or release mechanism. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: help with removing the stereo please.
First you remove the dash panel... it has 4 screws along the top above the steering column and 2 in the red part below the radio..( phillips screws ) There is a clip in the extreme left corner below the air vent on dash panel be careful removing the panel over there, use a reg screw driver and pry lightly.. once you have the panel off look under the bottom of the front of the radio and you will see 2 - 11 mm nuts, loosen those and the radio slides right out...
Hope this helps... |
