mmmm booost!

i ordered my 2.7 pulley today. Not sure when im gonna get it install, will be before april 8th, cause thats track day with jbom. Im hoping with the addition of the B&M Shiftplus and this smaller pulley i can dip my toes into the high 13's. Thats actually my ultimate goal for the car.

Awesome. I clicked your name to see where you were, I also am in Michigan. What part are you from? 13 second Cavy sounds nice. But doesn't 12 second Cavy sound better?

Re: mmmm booost!

Dearborn, yeah a 12 second would be nice, but that would also be alot more money and work. To much money and work to put into a cavalier.

Re: mmmm booost!

So a shiftplus setup and a smaller pulley gonna shave nearly a second of you quarter? Good goal, but I cant really see it happening. Good luck anyway! And you should get a vid when you run it, I dont think Ive seen your car in action yet.

Re: mmmm booost!

i think it will, the B&M Shiftplus has made a huge difference in the excelleration of the car. Before the trans slipped a little when under hard acceleration, but now none at all. And the shifts are so fast, its like instant, i barely lose any RPMS when shifting now. After a shift, like instantly afterwards, the car is accelerating harder than it was before. Ive heard of people losing .4 tenths of a second with one, and that was NA. The smaller pulley will ad about 20 HP to the car. If you figure adding 40Hp to the car made me go from shaved 1.4 seconds, i should easily be in the 13's. I might be able to get a video of my car running. I dont have a camera though.

dearborn eh. my mom use to live there, and in romulus. i am about an hour from there. sometime when i get my cavy really going we should meat out at miland drag strip and race em. it would be rad. if you want to kick it old school sometime i dont think your the 45 year old petophile type, it could be interesting. plus you know a lot of crap about cavy's. By the way, I am a little south of Jackson. Between Jackson and Adrian in a hick town.

Re: mmmm booost!

lol no im not some 45 year old petophile, im 20. And if you want to head out to Milan with me and a bunch of other jbodies, theirs gonna be a race day their April 8th for test n tune night. So far 15 cars are planning on going. Prety much all will be super/turbo/N20 cars. So it should be a fun day at the track when all the muscle heads see all these cavys their running 13's and 14's. Gates open at 4 PM, 20 bucks for all the races you can do.

Hell yeah! This local kid with a pointey sparkley spoiler filled neon wants to race me, but he wont do it on the street. My girlfriend's dad use to race out in Milan. He raced and Outlaw camaro though. I will bring my pal and his Z24 out too. April 8th eh, I better get modding. I haven't been to Milan in so long.
BTW I am 17.

Cool to meet another Jbody enthusiast in Michigan. Not far from here either.

I will bring my cousin along with his 430 horsepower Talon at 27 PSI of boost. Though, when he drags he tunes to 33 PSI. It is an insane car. AWD 4 banger Talon with an EVO 3 Engine.
The only thing stock on that car anymore is the intercooler, which will be replaced soon, then he is gonna upgrade real soon from 16g to 20g turbo.

Ive been with him when he has beat Shelby Mustangs, and 350 Camaros in 1/4 miles.

Oh and let's not forget the AWD aspect of this car. He tears up all kinds of cars. The 350 and Mustang is basically a battle of the tires however. He takes them no problem off of the line, but depending on their tires and how they drive it will be a close match, I've never seen him lose though. He has invested over 8 grand under the hood of his car.

One more aspect, his turbo doesn't spool unil 3100 RPM... The car is a machine, and is not bullshit.

Re: mmmm booost!

ok so he has a large 16g...and he swapped in an evo 4g63? you sure its not the STOCK 4g63 that comes in the talon/eclipses?

Hes running the stock intercooler which is pretty damn small and hes boosting 27psi....and 33 on race day...hmmm

stock drivetrain? what kind of fuel management?
