which location should I source oil form for the VTEC head?

ok, I found a vtec oil line kit that comes from a T at the oil pressure sender like all I have always sen have done. but just saw one that comes dircet from the oil pump. anyone whos seen the engine from the t-belt side knows where from, that neck that comes out towards the firewall at a maybe 35-45 degree angle, and its plugged at the end, this kit comes with a plug that steps it down to 4AN threads and lines from there to the head. just wondering if it matters either way as far as oil flow? they are about the same price so that isnt a factor. does it matter or is either place just fine?

I figured either source would be the same oil, I mean it would have to be pumped thorugh the filter and go through all the passages and eventually make it to the pan then the pump picks it up and pumps it through again. didnt think any oil ever sat there unused not going through the filter. and you say going off the stock sender is a bad idea too, then say tee off the stock sender?? not sure what you meant to say there?

Re: which location should I source oil form for the VTEC head?

well, where the hell should I come from then, if not the pump and not the stock presure sender, where should I get it from. and isnt any oil anywhere in the engine filtered? it just makes a continuous loop through the filter and the lubrication passages doesnt it, then back to the filter then passages over and over again...

because if the oil pump would pump unfiltered oil through the head if I sourced it form there, what stops the oil pump from pumping unfiltered oil everywhere else in stock form? I dont see how the pump would have one outlet that it flows filtered through and another output that it sends constantly recirculated dirty oil from.

Re: which location should I source oil form for the VTEC head?

ge vtec oil line kit for an lsvtec runs an adapter on your filter and then you run a line of filtered oil to your head.

oh and the reason you dont tee off the stock oil sensor is because with the tee making the oil sensor stick out so far with the weight of it. it has been known to break the threads on the block because it cant support the weight. a way to use that is to run a oil line and mount a distribution block to the firewall and then you can use your stock sensor, a pressure sensor and run a line to the head, but idk if it will supply enough oil

and also i just asked if the oil would be unfiltered, i dont know for sure if it is or not or if you can even use it
