Forgot something in the house, turned the car off, and now it wont start.

Computer or fuel pump are my first guesses, any ideas out there????

Turn the key to on without trying to start it. Do you hear a "whirring" sound - that should be the fuel pump ands sometimes if you are low on fuel you won't hear it. Also try the fuel pump relay fuse.

Does the gas tank have to be removed to replace the fuel pump in the Malibu? I know some cars you can just take the back seat lower cushon and access the fuel pump there. I have an 01 Malibu and here of quite a few fuel pump problems on these cars, would like to know how to change the fuel pump out. Let us know how you resolved the problem.

Not sure - but that would make too much sense!

No you have to drop the tank to access the pump. And rob a bank to pay for the pump.
