Eibach Pro kit

So if i was to lower the car with the Eibach pro kit but decided to leave the rest of the suspension stock would this be a mistake? I am trying to save a few bucks so i can snag some wheels this summer too. Wanna lower it first though so i don't look like a monster truck rolling on some 18's. Any opinions guys and gals, thanks

Re: Eibach Pro kit

Yeah, they're a high quality piece and they don't lower it too much (about 1.4"). Go for it. However, i'd also suggest getting another suspension mod - The Type R rear sway bar. You can sell your stock sway bar to a Civic owner (they love the RSX rear sway because its either 8 or 11mm thicker than what they have so you'llh ave no problem selling it for about 70) and the net price for this mod will be maybe 40 bucks. And it almost completely eliminates understeer.

Re: Eibach Pro kit

I just coverted the prices for the ITR sway:
The cheapest price here is 125 USD.
You can sell your sway from 53-80 USD (depending on various conditions, how used it is, how many buyers in your area, etc.).

Overall it should be anywhere from 40 (don't expect any cheaper) - 70 USD (bare minimum)

I was told my suspension would be shot with in 6mths to a year by just installing springs. Is this comment over kill. Or is there any truth to it.

Re: Eibach Pro kit

Overkill. The Eibach is not some 3 inch drop, its been calibrated to work with your other stock suspension parts for a long while. You MIGHT need a camber kit, but most people seem to not need it.

If you installed something like Ground Control coilovers or Skunk2 coilovers or Eiback Sportlines, then that comment would be valid, but not for the Eibach Prokit, Goldline, ClubRSX Street, A-Spec or Mugen (and I might be forgetting one of two).

Its just the pro kit i will be going with. Just a little nervous cause its the first time lowering any car that i have owned. I am looking for some 18's as well but thought if i was going to do that i should lower it first. I got ripped pretty good for having 17s on my old civic and not lowering it. It did look like a mini van though riding high. lol

Re: Eibach Pro kit

If you are really unsure about it, i'd see if there are any dealers out there that'd warranty Comptech springs (a lot of Honda/Acura dealers warranty parts as long as they are Comptech and/or Spoon and/or Mugen.
