87 honda accord speaker wiring diagram

Hi,

Anyone know the colors for the speaker wires for a 1987 Honda Accord Sedan? Or know where I could find out? Also need to know ignition, hot, antenna, etc.

Thanks!

Re: 87 honda accord speaker wiring diagram

Have you taken your door panels off and noted the color of the wires that are attached to your speakers? Sometimes that works. But then again alot of times I've found that somewhere between the hu and speaker the color code changes. And if your car has a factory amp the colors will most likely not match. you can always send a signal the oposite direction through the wire (via "cable toner" walkman, cheapo radio etc) and use a speaker "toner probe" to track it down under the dash board. as for the power and acc all you need is a test light and your keys. if the power is constant in any of the wires (with your dash lights off) you have your power wire. And if the power turns on and off with the key (with your dash lights off) you have your acc. The reason I say "with your dash lights off", is because the lights in alot of factory stereos turn on and off with the dash lights and you dont want to hook your deck up to it because you wont be able to turn it on unless your lights are on and It would most likely make your dash lights flicker with the music which is'nt as cool of an illusion as it sounds.

as for the speaker wires if they give you too much trouble I'd tape up the ends and run new wires.

REMEMBER to use zip ties, solder and heat shrink. I can't stand pulling out a deck and seeing a bunch of electrical tape wrapped around the harness cuz I know that underneith it I'm gona' find a sticky mess that the tape left behind. And butt conectors are over rated. All they do is provide a weak point in the wiring and create more trouble than they're wourth. I always solder and heatshrink my wires and I have "never" had any problems with them.

Thanks, I know I can do all that you note, however my time is very limited as was hoping to simply hook up a deck.

Re: 87 honda accord speaker wiring diagram

Red/Yellow = R rear + : Blue/yellow = L rear + : Yellow/red = 12v access
Blue/wht = 12 v const : Red/Blk = Illum : Blue/Grn = L Frnt +
Red/grn = R frnt + : Brwn/wht = R rear + : Grey/wht L rear -
Grey/black = L frnt - : Brwn/blk = R frnt - :

Is this better?
