96 taurus Power windows
I need some help. The power windows were intermittedly not working. They were not working from any door. The problem had been going away quickly. Now it appears it is here to stay as none of the windows are working from any door.
I did pull the relay out of the fuse box and replace it with another relay and still no luck. Any suggestions before I take it in for repair? I would like to have an idea of what I am looking at before I go into the shop with it. |

Re: 96 taurus Power windows
Did you check the power supply? the lock switch on the driver's door? How old is the car?

Check and see if the wires in the door are broken. Look between the door hinges where the boot runs out od the door and into the firewall. More specific pay most attention to the driver side door. I have experienced this with other car but the problem sounds the same. You may have to peel the boot away to check it.

The car is a 1996. The windows are not locked and i have not checked the power supply. I will check the wiring harness and the PS this weekend. Thank you

I had a similiar problem with a '94 mitsu galant.I went to a salvage yard and replaced the main drivers side switch assembly ($30).It worked.
