Paint a sub?
Yeah, so i've heard sometimes of people painting their subs...
I just got my eD b615, and by the way, it's f***** ritgeous! jesus... But yeah, it's not to seXXXy on the front, so i was thinking of just spraying it black, and covering the surround with tape, not getting any paint on it. I figure since it's linear, paint shouldnt chip off or whatever? What do you guys think? and what kind of paint? Any special kind? Thanks

Re: Paint a sub?
you'll change the mms, which will throw off the rest of the T/S parameters, which will change the required box size, the efficiency, low end extension, and general sound. Not sure how much any of that would be effected, I guess it depends on how much paint you used.
If you try it, make SURE you get it the coat on evenly

Re: Paint a sub?
pressed papaer cone?
yes this will add mass to the cone causint alot of weird things to happen to the T/S... but if you'd still like to try it any water soluable paint should work. dont use spray paint, actually now that i think of it try using air brush paint like they have ay any crappy side of the road beach store and an air brush, it is acylic (i beleive) but it is made to go one more absorbant materials (cotton T-shirts mainly). just tape off any rubber/foam as acrylic may make it start to decompose much like the fumes from acrylic/silicone chaulking... |

airbrush it
yes You can airbrush it. Airbrushes put down a thin coat of paint. I've seen it done alot actualy. You have to use a water base or acrylic paint though. Thinner will breakdown the paper in the cone and sooner or later it will stress. I would'nd recomend covering the whole cone with paint either. If it was aluminum you'd be ok but the papar will warp if it gets too wet.
