mr2 help

Hello, my friend just purchased a 1993 mr2 and wants to take out the stock headunit, its a double unit (cd player in the second compartment) Can anyone tell us how to take it out to install an aftermarket one?

The first thing you want to do is go to a stereo shop and by the correct harness for your car, you are also going to want to pick up a toyota pocket. get in you car and pop up the panel that goes around the shifter, it will just pull right up. there will be 2 screws under tha panel you just pulled out take them out along with the screw that is right under your key cyclinder. then that whole front panel will pop out too. take out the four screws that hold the radio in. unplug the radio and make sure that harness you bought plugs right in, if it dosent it means you have a factory amplified system. post and tell me if that the case and ill tell you how to get around that. now unscrew the radio from the brackets that hold it in. screw your aftermarket radio and in the pocket back into the same holes your adio came out of. connect the wires out of your aftermarket radio to that harness you bought color for color and put it all back together. game over
