computer updates
i have a 89 s-10 blazer 4x4 4.3l tbi is thare any computer updates i can get from the dealer or can only the 95 and up be updated

You can buy an updated chip from the dealer. Simply give them the ECM code off the ecm (white sticker) and the code off the chip itself (pull the cover)

Secondly, try to give people more than an hour to respond... Some of us are at work

The computer has a replaceable Mem-Cal as opposed to the later models which are reprogrammable.

ok thanks sounds like more work and money i was interisted in but if i did want to get a new chip would it realy make a diffrence mind you its a 89

Call your local dealer parts department and find out what improvements the updated chip makes... Also consider www.jetchip.com

is it possible to go to a junk yard and get a chip out of a newer truck with the same motor and use that chip oh shit just screw it it looks like im at least looking at 125 for a new chip

Updated Proms from the dealer are fixes for problems. If you don't have a problem, don't look for one.

Not quite... Some can include fixes, others have improvements for fuel curves, egr improvements, etc...
