Is it as simple as just changing the top end of the motor (head/valvecover etc.) and a bit of wiring or is it more complex than that?

So is there a difference between the blocks on them?

yes
the coolant ports are in different places and i believe the DOHC block is wider

Re: changing SOHC ZC into DOHC
just buy a doch they arent that much and if you were going to buy a head just save a little more and get the hole thing.

yeah i might do that but this engine only had maybe 55000 kms on it or so. thx for the help.
