Shift Problems on 92? Cav

Howdy all, I normally am in the Camaro section but am helping out a fellow chev owner. We have an issue with the shift points, he was screwing around with something before to make them shift better and all he did was make them worse and can't figure it out. What am I talking about?

WOT it will shift passed redline, as in liek around 5500 or higher it will shift, not supposed to go that high, how do we go about adjusting the shift points.

I belive it is a 2.2L, 4 spd auto, its def an auto, might be a 3 speed but I forget already.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you mean a 2.3 or 2.4 4-cyl.? Quick find for the 2.3 is VIN D and 3. Only a guess, as I dunno what your buddy did, but sounds like first look at Throttle Valve lever and cables. It controls the shift points based on throttle pisiton.
