idk.....should i be happy

my car is a former 2.8L p.o.s. tunred into something that gets quite a bit of compliments. so the crew and i were all together at burger king, the crew is my racing crew which consists of a good 15 ppl when were all together but tonight its about 8 of us. 4 of which are at bk just chilling myself included. a tuarus s.h.o. idk lets call it 91 its the one thats into the low 15's the fast one. i know this cuz he beat my buddys low 15's daily driver. anyways he was an asshole speeding around this tiny parking lot and took off, he came back we know him of course, and we give him the finger he parks car comes in to see whatsup. we begin talking and my friends start talking about my car being slow setting him up, i dont feel like racing but they keep going and he goes onto saying my cars probly slow. well right then and there i turn to him and reply "dude u drive a taurus" and i began to run with the idea of the 2.8 as he still thinks thats what it is.
After much arguing over whose car is faster i challenge him to a race with my "2.8" . at that moment 5 other of the guys show up in camaros and what not. hes parked right next to me and we set up where it would be which is about 10 mins. away. he starts up his car and revs it. well that prompts me to sit in my car, start up the 350 open headers of course and well lets say his jaw needed to be pushed back up, as he realized he was not against the lowly v6. we all pull out him in front me 2nd and 5 cars behind me.
Near the racing spot, we have someone check out the end of the track for cops and such and pull into a orchard. i let my passenger out. he ssays go on 3. we pull onto road time is about 10:00. the flagger sits into middle of street, 1.....2.....3....hands wave down. i put the pedal about halfway down, i was instantly half car ahead of the tuarus, i waited at about halfway down on the throttle till i hit 3500 then slammed it full back end still let a lil loose but kept OK traction. shift light lit, i shifted the hurst qurter stick into 2nd back end let loose again and tourqued right. i was now full car length. shifted into third my last gear, and rode it all the way till i passed the camaro almost exactly 1/4 mile from where we took off. i was now 2 cars but i had quickly run outa tourque to take him by alot more, open headers arnt that great unless u need it which i dont, i need backpressure. but in short he wanted a re match and his g/f broke up with him and wanted in with my camaro, but i didnt go back to BK. the fact that those s.h.o. tauruses are that quick amazes me personally. but i looked up the specs and going on what i beat him by, i am looking at a low 14 second 1/4 with a mid 6 sec 0-60 time. im hoping exhasut will solve my tourque probs. that showed that poor guy who was dissing all camaros saying he cant be beat by a camaro less than 2 weeks prior

Well I wouldn't be happy beating a Taurus. I would be happy about shoving a guys foot in his mouth, gj there, that's always a good thing. What kind of a ho g/f leaves her b/f for losing a race? Must be a dumb one if she thought a Taurus was a hot car. No offense to the hardcore SHO ppl.

low 14's in a 3rd gen ain't bad at all but i'd go for bigger fish than a taurus if i were you coz a taurus just doesn't seem like much of a contest

Good kill and actually SHO's aren't really push over's like people think. Now if you said regular taurus that would be different story but I don't get the part about the guys girlfriend leaving him and wanting to get with you?. what is she some kind of skank?.(seems like a real dumb reason to break up with someone to me)

I would think you could beat a Taurus by more than 2 cars with a 350. I'm no expert, but shouldnt you be getting close to 300whp with that?

It depends what 350 he has...if you wanna spend 6 grand, you can get a 350 from edelbrock with 410 horsepower.

wll nothin happened i never went back, and as i got the whole story, it turns out he kicked her out, and sped off like a loser. and idk why only 2 cars maybe it was the 89 octane i had in, maybe the ZERO backpressure, or just the 300lb's of sand bags in my trunk thing. he was jsut running his mouth and needed to be shut up. im gonna try for a 99 camaro ls1, see how that turns out. i think when i get my exhaust hooked up tommorow, ill be into the 13's. 300hp iiidk my motor bare block is ranked in at 260 at the wheels on a caprice..cuz its a caprice motor. maybe im up at 300 idk..

You said you were on 89 octane fuel, did you retard your timing before taking it out? You should get some kind of rock hard evidence of your cars accomplishments quartermile or dyno, and post it on here. 260whp seems a little high. Last dyno I saw was of a 94 (I believe) auto corvette, and he only put down 230whp.

the only reason i say 260 bare block was cuz i had a caprice and i got a remanufactured cop car motor for it, u know the whole deal new everything xcept block so its brandy new. its a roller 350/vortec heads with a few mods i.e. headers, exhaust, intake, carb stuff like that. someday ill get it to the dyno/track this summer, until then winter is still got its hold on N.E. no i didnt retard the timing for the 89 lol i drive the thing everyday i dont tune the car to race a taurus, it gets what i have the money for. when i can ill run 93 or 104. but u know at 2.24 a gallon its pretty hefty to go to work in a 3 speed 350 with 3.40 gears...

I figured it was out of a cop car. Thats a nice set-up. I myself would probably waste 20 cents for a little added horsepower but thats just me.
