Yes I believe the hayabusa is the fastest stock bike. Its top speed is somewhere around 205 mph but with some modifications ive heard of them reaching 245-250 mph.
I think the 2nd fastest would have to be the ZX12R which is just slightly slower.

Re: Haybusa...Fastest Bike?..

Any Busa after the first year of production is limited to 187mph from the factory.

Re: Haybusa...Fastest Bike?..

the fastest stock bike was the 1999 hayabusa and it went 194 mph. after 1999 all bikes were speed regulated at 186 mph. the zx12 didnt get a chance to defend itself as it came out in 2000 but i dont think it would of made it to that speed.

"after 1999 all bikes were speed regulated at 186 mph."

I was of course referring to going downhill, with a tailwind...

Busa leaves plenty of space to mod the engine, since it's a high compression engine, that's why it's capable of 200+, but stocks are limited to 185-190 as those guys mentioned. It's currently the fastest "production" bike. Although ZX-12R is clamined to have more low-end and mid-range, as it wheelies all over the place.

are you trying to settle a bet or something?

as with cars, bike are divided into groups that have different top bikes depending on criteria.

not being rude but i've seen this thread style before and it seems like someone is trying to prove someone else wrong but with the wrong info.

do you want the land speed record for a bike or
speed record for a production bike?
highest BHP for bike?
highest bhp for prod bike?

just because its a 1300cc doesn't mean its the most powerful. define powerful and is it useable

Actually, it's more like how big are your balls? haha.

Fast bike requires skilled rider.

right day, right conditions and i'll kick a busa's ass on the track. (most days)

in high wind and the busa will come back at me. but then a good rider on a 600 will get me everytime until the straight.

busas are good on high speed straight line but are a sports tourer so corners are limited to the skills of the rider. you could get a 600 to lap a busa day in day out with the same money as you could spend on a turbo busa.
personally i'd prefer a bike to haul ass and handle, not just straight line speed. sooner or later you need to corner
as i said it depends on the criteria

There are a few land speed bikes that are "street legal". It is nice to live in a state with loose vehicle requirements. The fastest street legal bike I have read about i tops out at about 240 or so. The top speed is governed by traction. At that speed the rear tire can not generate enough tractive force to overcome the aerodynamic forces. The bike is highly modded Busa. To top it the bike didn't even have front brakes.

I have ridden with guys on "street legal" drag bikes. Their racing class requires the bikes to be street legal and registered for street use. Here in Ohio, if you slap a head light, tail light, brake light and can mount a plate on it, you are legal. Nothing like a 7 second bike on the street. Although they may noy be the fastest, they are the quickest.

Re: Haybusa...Fastest Bike?..

the dodge tomohawk "theoretically" tops out at 300 (don't know if it's kph or mph) for those of you that don't know, the tomohawk was a concept "bike" with 4 wheels but still looked like a bike. It had a viper engine in it and was humassive. Anyone who has the balls to try and take a bike that fast has my respect and incredibly strong arms and hand grip.
