Gas milage
Hey all,
I just put my 2nd tank of gas in my car. I got 25 mpg out of the first tank. But, I was using 89 octane. I filled up w/premium, so we'll see if there is any extra milage coming from the better gas. I also spent quite a bit of time flooring the throttle. If I can control the urge, that too should improve overall milage. |

Well, I have been getting between 24 - 26 mpg. 26 when I kinda take it easy, and 22 when I am "On It" a lot.

yeah...maybe it's just me...but the Spec-V doesn't seem to get all that good of gas mileage even though it's a 4 cyl. Or maybe i'm just punching it too much?

new cars take some time to brake in before you start getting the desired miles/gallon. Sux but its the procces, give it couple of thousand miles and the Spec V should treat your wallet well on gas. What did the factory say the mpg was supose to be again anyone remember?? too lazy to check my self but ohh well.

For the last 2 fill ups I've calculated 26/mpg for both times. I thought that was decent compared to the horror stories I've heard on other boards (somewhere in the teens!)
Cool thing is when I went to check my oil, it was still clear.... cant remember the last time the oil in my engine was that clean.

No I found that info in the brosure. Those were MPG ratings.
CDN measure is: SE-R 10.0 City, 7.4 Hwy (L/100 Kms) Spec-V 10.8City, 7.6 Hwy I have not tried to calculate my current gas mileage but it seems to be getting better now. I've got about 2400 Kms on it now so gas mileage may improve some more.

that is an interesting way to measure. I have never seen that before. So, you actually measure how many litres it will take to go 100km? I just want to make sure that I understand your measurement. At first glance, it looked like hwy efficiency was lower!!
I am getting a bit better gas milage now as well. I have been getting 26+. |

i didn't measure the gas milage by the litres. i was just saying since the se-r has a bigger engine than a honda, it'll guzzle up more gas, i.e. you know that a 5.0L v6 mustang will definitely guzzle way more gas than the se-r, that's what i meant
